Full Review of the Program:
English Alternative Theatre was the best thing in the department. It was nationally recognized and produced several award winning playwrights in its 20 years of opperation.
Unfortunately, it died. The fiction chair and his minions killed it. Fiction is in charge here, kids. No lie. If you're in poetry, you're okay. If you're in prose, you're a little less than okay. If you're a playwright... welcome to Lonely Lane at the edge of Loserville as far as this department is concerned.
Advice to Prospective Students:
Be a good writer, not just some asshole who can type 30 pages and turn them in... this department had far too many of those.
Also, Science Fiction and Playwriting are genres. The letter "F" in M.F.A. does not stand for "Fiction."
