Review Title:

Excellent program for writing and culture.

Full Review of the Program:

I had to choose from several great programs and I chose CSU. It was a wonderful experience. The class sizes are small. The professors are knowledgeable, supportive and accessible. I feel like I walked away with a better understanding of the process and mechanics of creative writing as well as a depth of understanding about African-American culture. This cultural aspect was very important to me when putting my work into a cultural and historical context.

Advice to Prospective Students:

Don't be afraid to reach out to your professors and other students. The program is only as strong as its students and staff. Don't be thrown off by the area. I always felt safe.
