Program Description
The London Film School is recognised as one of the world’s key graduate schools and remains film education’s most cosmopolitan institution -- LFS graduates are established in film and television production in more than eighty countries. It is a member of the Skillset Screen Academy Network. a small number of institutions approved by the UK film industry as “centres of excellence”.
Alumni include many great filmmakers and very successful technicians – names like Mike Leigh (currently chairman of the school), Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Roger Pratt, Ueli Steiger, Iain Smith, and Robert Leighton.
The LFS is situated in Covent Garden, a few hundred yards from Soho, nerve centre of the UK film business. It offers a core multi-department filmmaking programme, the 2 year MA Filmmaking, a unique one-year MA Screenwriting and an expanding range of professional workshop courses, under the LFS Workshops banner.
The school makes around 180 film exercises and graduate films each year and in 2008 participated in over 110 festivals, winning numerous awards, including 20 first prizes. More info at

Great but expensive
