Program Description

The Film Program offers a uniquely integrated curriculum centered on film as a storytelling medium, an emphasis reflected to varying degrees in every course offered. The course of instruction combines directing, writing and producing with technical training and history/theory to provide students with a deep understanding of the principles and practice of dramatic filmmaking.

The faculty is composed of veteran and new members of the New York and Hollywood film communities. Student work wins awards and recognition for its combination of technical excellence, visual originality and outstanding storytelling. Alumni produce, write and direct films that set the standard for independent cinema. Graduates are highly employable, and the growing network of adjunct faculty, guest speakers and alumni continues to raise the profile of Film Program graduates both nationally and internationally.
